After 2 years of dry period, the year of 2013 brought abundant rains - water reserves in the soil in almost the entire Region. The spring started cold, which delayed the vegetative cycle and the summer was exceptionally dry. None other than the vines were green and the occasional rain brought the ideal ripening stage for the grapes to follow in a fine harvest.

DESCRIPTION

Pacheca Porto LBV is the result of grapes from ancient vines that were transported in 25 kg trunks, subject to rigorous sorting at the entrance to the winery. After fear-ming and crushing they are taken to a traditional stone tank where they were trodden by men for 3 hours on the first day. During fermentation, gentle pumping over for blanket leaching and extraction of phenolic and aromatic compounds is done. . Then brandy is added to stop fermentation. It aged in barrels of 600 liters where it remained for about four years. It was bottled without filtering. being subject, during its aging, to create a small deposit.

TASTING NOTES

It has a dark violet color. Reveals ex-violoncellent complexity and an intense aroma with fresh stem notes, soft nutty notes and more concentrated ripe wild fruit notes. The mouth has an elegant start evolving harmoniously into a wine with excellent volume and solid structure. Firm but well-polished tannins. It ends with great freshness, elegance and intensity.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS

It should be drunk a little cool at the end of the meal accompanying cheeses or dark chocolate desserts. Must be served- tween 16 and 18oC.
