This wine is obtained exclusively from the Touriga Nacional grape variety from a 32-year-old plot installed at an altitude of 140 meters.
Winemaking
After a careful selection for their best condition, the grapes were harvested into 25 kg trunks and sent to the wine production center, where they were completely destemmed. Fermentation took place for 9 days in foot-treaded stone tanks. At the end of alcoholic fermentation, the wine was transferred to new French oak barrels for 18 months.
VITICULTURAL YEAR
The 2019 vinicultural year started with a rainy spring after a harsh winter that was later found to have great importance in protecting soil water reserves. This was the key to the dry and hot conditions that followed June and July. During the maturation period in August, daytime and nighttime temperatures were milder, which allowed preserving the acidity of the grapes that obtain balanced must and, consequently, elegant wines.
