Grape varietal: 100% Jaen

Vineyards : Old vines from Quinta da Teixuga.

Vinification and Aging : This red from the Jaen variety stood out from the other wines of this year 2019 from the very beginning. It is made from a 35-year-old vineyard, located in the heart of the farm where Jaen, one of the most typical grape varieties of the Dão region, is planted exclusively. After fermentation, which took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, most of the batch continued its evolution in stainless steel vats, and another part of the batch was aged for 12 months in two French oak barrels carefully selected to enhance the special characteristics of this variety. O
Jaen, gives rise to wines of great elegance and harmony, and requires special care in its “education” so as not to alter this balance! Here the barrel works as a “catalyst” to bring out the full potential of the variety!

Tasting notes : With an open ruby hue, this wine has intense aromas of red fruit, jams and spices. In the mouth it is fresh, elegant and tasty, with fine and silky tannins subtly supported by the barrel tannins that make it eminently gastronomic.
