Planted in the heart of the Bairrada region, the 15 hectares of Quinta do Ortigão, mix tradition, contemporary and the vision that Justino Sampaio Alegre managed to pass on to four generations entirely dedicated to the world of wine.
At the beginning of 2001, Quinta do Ortigão started its own production, for which it equipped a modern and spacious cellar with a winemaking capacity of 200,000 litres.
Quinta do Ortigão has always been committed to the careful choice of selected grape varieties that allow the production of wines of great complexity. White wines include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Arinto, Bical and Maria Gomes. In reds, the base variety of Bairrada wines, Baga, is complemented by three varieties of high oenological quality, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Cabernet Sauvignon.
With raw materials of exceptional quality, state-of-the-art technology and know-how from four generations, Quinta do Ortigão manages to impose itself in the world of wines and become a prestigious reference for the region and the country.
The landscape of Quinta do Ortigão provides the ideal environment for contact with the reality of wine.
