A new oenological chapter begins at Quinta da Pacheca with the launch of Pacheca Grande Reserva Tinta Roriz, 2019 harvest. This wine is the fruit of grapes from a vineyard with a remarkable 42 years of age, carefully cultivated between 200 and 400 meters of altitude, on the slopes of the right bank of the Douro River.
100% Tinta Roriz, the grapes were harvested manually in 25 kg boxes and went through a meticulous selection process, ensuring the choice of the most vigorous ones. After harvest, the grapes were sent to the winemaking center, where they were de-stemmed for later fermentation.
The new Pacheca Grande Reserva Tinta Roriz reveals a strong aromatic intensity, with distinct notes of black fruits, such as blackberry and blueberry, accompanied by sublime touches of rockrose and an herbaceous presence characteristic of the variety. Its maturation in oak barrels contributed to a perfect integration of wood notes. In the mouth, this wine surprises with its freshness, showing robust structure and polished tannins. The aftertaste is long and persistent, highlighting its excellent aging potential. In gastronomy, this wine is an excellent companion for red meat dishes, such as roast lamb and roast beef. Its versatility also extends to game dishes, such as pigeon and venison, as well as the richness of flavors found in mushroom dishes, such as porcini or shiitake.
This launch expresses the rich winemaking tradition of Quinta da Pacheca, uniquely harmonizing historical heritage with innovation. Each bottle, in turn, reflects the passion for the hard work between nature and man, reflecting a great passion in the art of making good wines.
